Cultural Humility: Doing the Work, Not Checking the Box

Presenter: Amber Kanchwala, M.S., BCBA, LBA

CEU: 1 Learning CEU

Description: Cultural humility is essential for delivering ethical, effective, and individualized ABA services. In this presentation, participants will explore cultural humility as a lifelong, reflective practice, and its critical role in behavior analysis. Rather than viewing culture as something to “master,” this webinar emphasizes ongoing self-evaluation, recognition of power and privilege, and respectful collaboration with clients and families as cultural experts of their own lived experiences. Participants will examine how cultural humility strengthens clinical decision-making across assessment, treatment planning, supervision, and caregiver partnership. Through theory, real-world examples, and practical application, participants will explore strategies to enhance cultural humility that will support the delivery of ethical, compassionate, culturally responsive care.
